For young writers, we have a fantastic opportunity at the University of Sheffield on 15th November 2017: an Orwell Youth Prize workshop with author Marina Lewycka, followed by the Orwell Lecture in the North with Grayson Perry.

The Orwell Lecture in the North with Grayson Perry
Turner prize winning artist Grayson Perry: 'I've ready all the academic texts on empathy'. The event will take place on Wednesday, 15 November 2017 at 6.30pm in The Octagon Centre, University of Sheffield, Clarkson Street, Sheffield.

On the afternoon of the lecture The Orwell Youth Prize is hosting a regional workshop with author Marina Lewycka (Two Caravans, A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian) at the University of Sheffield. The provocative, participatory workshop is aimed at students in yrs 12 & 13 interested in writing and politics. Registration is free, but applications close this Wednesday.
